EVERYTHING IS BETTER
ON HORSEBACK
We started Holiday with your Horse following much encouragement from our horsey friends far and wide. They enjoyed visiting and riding out with their horses so much, we thought why not. We love showing off our area, meeting your horses and often your dogs. We hope to meet you soon at Sunbiggin. All our packages are bespoke to your requirements, where you want to stay bunkhouse or pub to how long you want to spend in the saddle, or maybe pop to a spa while we look after your horse. Most breaks are 2 or 3 days but we can cater for longer...
ABOUT US
Is a holiday with your horse a dream? Are you sick of hacking on busy roads!
Then this is the escape for you and your best friend. Bring your horse to stay at Sunbiggin, a working farm and equestrian property on the edge of the Lake District, situated within the stunning Yorkshire Dales National Park. Every adventure starts from our door onto the Wainwright coast to coast route, then out onto the wild fells surrounding Great Asby Scar, famous for its limestone pavements.
Your horse will have 5 star accommodation and care. You can choose to stay with us in your wagon, camp, bunk house or at our local pub.
Add lessons to your break. No problems, you can learn while you are here, our menage has wonderful views. We work closely with Katharine Martin, who can offer you a taster in Working Equitation or lessons in classical dressage, pole work, show jumping, grids and side saddle.
We offer various packages for your budget and how much time you want to spend in the saddle. The area also has wonderful spa’s if you want to add some pampering into your break.

Please note a break with us is for intermediate riders and above with their own horses.

A little bit about us before you visit, any questions very welcome.

Top team leader!
Andrew
Meet Andrew owner of Sunbiggin Farm, the fountain of knowledge on all things in the area. A great cook and passionate about all animals. He has been riding since.....a few years anyway, let's put it that way, he certainly cannot remember not riding. From racing in point to points to eventing you are in safe hands when you go with him on a guided ride. His other loves are skiing, walking, mountain biking and his two daughters.

Head of fun!
Grace
Meet Grace, what she doesn't know about the fells and dales around here is just not worth knowing. Tommy the Shetland was her first pony, as you can see, she has progressed a lot since those days. She has recently graduated from Bishop Burton college and will make sure you and your horse have a 5* experience. Often found outside the Orton chocolate factory, enjoying the ice cream with her dog Misty!
